TV killed the Radio Star

It was one heck of a weekend here in bangalore. There was no cable TV, thanks to a snap strike called by the operators who are protesting against some sort of Tax being introduced. If it does (get introduced) then it is we poor TV viewers who will have to shell out an additional 1300 bucks (one time) and 25 Rs/month extra.

This makes me wonder as to why the state government has to adopt this double taxation policy. It is of keen interest for me to find out what all this money is used for. It definitely isn't upgradation of infrastructure in Bangalore, and it also ain't for the rural areas, coz if it was, then by now you would have seen full page ads in the newspapers. Makes me wonder....

All in all, i missed a good line-up of movies over the weekend. To beat boredom, i went out of the house for a beat in the city, but i hadn't bargained for the rest of the Bangaloreans thinking on the same lines. So came back home bone tired, and switched on the good ole radio. Heard some decent music, inane RJ chatter and lots and lots of ads. Strike one for the Radio.
